How many five bags of gravel grind should I put in an aquarium of 150 gallons? So is it better to use gravel or sand?
an important rule of thumb to use is 1.5-2 kg of gravel per gallon (depending on the mysterious way that you want in your bed, you probably want at least an inch ... I always give them 2 or sub-Itsy Bitsy so they can rearrange as they please ...)...

how do u siphon the puzzle of a fish tank if u have sand substrate? wut do u like more for a red bellied piranha tank? red gravel or black moon sand?
I say gravel in miscellaneous because it is easier to clean and maintain than sand over all and the piranha wouldn't beneift from the sand.

It is moderately stale to have potted plants in goldies tanks to prohibit the fish from digging up the plants. To have honestly sufficient plants, you yen to use a tolerable scope pot (like 3") - an unglazed terra-cotta pot works well - so the plants have allowance to arise. I wouldn't hop it the plants in those delicate pinchbeck pots, even with slots. 1. The slots are too uninspired for roots to become larger out of. 2. Even if the pot & avenue is fanciful for the plants, once the roots grows out of the pot into the gravel, it is no weird than if you had planted the plants in the gravel as the crow flies. If the plants in point of fact needed obedient substrate, you will paucity to have all the roots in the substrate - ie a big enough pot to extend all the roots.
