What kind of lighting set up should i use for a 72" reef aquarium?
Nov 11, 2008 by Marty K | Posted in Fish
My tank is 72"x12"x18". I have in mind its 150 gallons. I'm looking at doing a reef tank with fish, coral, and anemones. I even-handed can't figure out what lighting set up to go with. I've ruled out metal halide because they are too hot. So what should i go with?
you don't detail what species of coral you're interested in keeping; some species (i'm cogitative SPS corals) will need a light intensity and kelvin rating that only metal halide can attend to arrange for, so i'd suggest researching more thoroughly your potential corals before

Everyone seems to be asking about lighting recently, and I'm no find fault with. Will LED lights tolerate zoas and mushrooms? I'm prosperous to have a minimize seahorse tank, and those are the two corals I've unqualified to go with. I righteous don't separate about lighting. I'm all in all this , but I appetite to be sure first if it'll advance both those corals. Thanks! No. Those wont reinforcing anything. Each of those LED's are only 1W.. which is nothing compared to honest lights. These types of LED's are basically merely for show in smaller tanks. You can only start supporting coral if you have the larger LED fixtures that are reasonable as high-strung as metal...
